New Wildfire Starts Southwest of Medford, Now at 25 Acres

A new wildfire has started about 50 miles south of the MP97 Fire in the Applegate Valley area out west of Ashland. It's in an area called Panther Gulch. Aircraft has been grounded for the night, though crews are continuing to fight the fire. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire with partner agencies. 5 SEATs, 2 LATs, 4 dozers, four 20 person hand crews along with type 1 helicopters from the Milepost 97 Fire, in addition to our local ODF resources, are on scene or en route to the fire. The cause is under investigation. No evacuations or road closures have been made at this time. It's very bad timing starting just before nightfall. I'll try to get a better image of where this fire is at.
