Oregon Coronavirus Update for Thursday March 26
Oregon records one more death and 50 more coronavirus cases on Thursday. According to the Oregon Health Authority, at least 11 people have now died from the coronavirus in Oregon. The 50 newly discovered COVID-19 cases make a total of 317 cases. There are now known coronavirus cases linked to 22 of Oregon’s 36 counties. Douglas County As of this 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 26, 2020, County Public Health Officer, Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer announced one new positive case of COVID-19 in Douglas County to report, bringing the confirmed number of cases in Douglas County to four. Douglas Public Health Network has launched their epidemiology investigation related to the new case, identifying who this individual may have had contact with. Identifying information about the newest case is not being released at this time. Close contacts of the confirmed case will be notified by public health. Currently, there are zero deaths from the coronavirus in Douglas County. The State of Oregon today released its projections of what will be needed for Oregon to prevent a surge of patients that would overwhelm the states medical capacity.
