Douglas County Fair Starts Tomorrow

Exhibits are in, pre-sale ride bracelets are sold out, and the musicians are scheduled. The fair is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Daily tickets are available online and at the ticket booth and there are options for discounted tickets throughout the week on the Douglas County Fairgrounds website. Tickets are free for children 12 and under every day, regular tickets are $10 and parking is $10. The shuttle bus is free and runs every half hour from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Roseburg High School, the First Student Bus Lot in Green, and Jo Lane Middle School. Masks are required on the shuttle bus. The Challenge of Champions bull riding will be on Friday at 5:30 in the grandstands. Entry is included with the fair ticket. The nightly concerts are also included with the fair ticket. The concerts start at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Ned Ledoux is playing with Neil Gregory Johnson on Wednesday, Quiet Riot on Thursday, Shenandoah on Friday, and Appetite for Deception on Saturday. The discounted carnival ride bracelets went on sale and were sold out by Monday evening. Exhibits were due on a staggered schedule with the last items, flower arrangements, due on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The fair takes a lot of hands to run, and they are still hiring fair workers and parking assistants. Pay is $12 per hour and includes free parking and entry to the fair. They are looking for people 14 years old and older to apply at the fair website www.douglasfairgrounds.com
