The Ford Family Foundation seeks a Digital Communications Specialist to advance its mission by creating and managing digital content that strengthens engagement with key audiences. This role develops content across social media, website, email and emerging channels while collaborating with program and leadership teams to highlight the Foundation's investments and impact in rural communities.

Location: Roseburg, OR — hybrid, minimum 3 days per week on-site. Residency within 40 miles of Roseburg is required.

Pay: $31.73–$33.75 per hour, depending on experience. Full-time, non-exempt.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Content Development

Create, edit, publish and maintain content across digital platforms including social media, website and email
Manage social media content planning, scheduling, publishing and audience engagement
Manage routine website updates, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop impact-focused stories
Apply accessibility and SEO best practices to all content

Audience Engagement & Brand Stewardship

Ensure content aligns with Foundation messaging and brand standards
Promote Foundation events, reports and partnerships through coordinated digital efforts
Collaborate with external vendors on communications projects

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

Track digital metrics across platforms
Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen the Foundation's digital presence
Provide recommendations to the Communications Director

Organizational Collaboration

Build relationships across departments
Participate in cross-functional teams and planning processes
Contribute to a positive work environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or a related field, or equivalent experience
3–5 years of professional experience in digital communications, marketing, public relations or journalism
Demonstrated experience creating and managing content across multiple digital platforms
Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
Proficiency with website content management systems and social media platforms
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Valid Oregon driver's license, or ability to obtain one before start date
Approximately 10% travel within Oregon and Siskiyou County, California

Preferred: Experience creating nonprofit or philanthropic content.
