OAKLAND – Green Valley Road is scheduled to close at the Old Highway 99 intersection from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 8, for paving work near the north end of the new Oakland Bridge. A 10-mile detour is available. Fall Creek Falls Trail Closed for Hazard Tree Removal: April 3-4, Wednesdays until May 15

The Umpqua National Forest has announced that the Fall Creek Falls Trail will be closed on Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4, for hazard tree removal. Following this week, the trail will continue to be closed every Wednesday until May 15 to allow for the removal of hazardous trees killed by the 2020 Archie Creek Fire. These trees pose a safety risk to the public and trail infrastructure. DIAMOND LAKE, Ore. - A cross country skier was rescued after falling and injuring her ankle Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, March 31, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Douglas County 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a 57-year-old woman who fell and injured her ankle while cross country skiing near Mt.
