3A/2A/1A Senior All-Star Series Comes to Roseburg for the First Time

ROSEBURG — For the first time ever, the 3A/2A/1A Senior All-Star Series is coming to Roseburg. The games will be played this weekend at Champion Car Wash Field, also known as Legion Field, showcasing some of the top senior baseball talent from across Oregon. The series features First Team All-League seniors from 3A and 2A/1A schools statewide. This year, 26 high schools are represented, with four local players making the roster: Ty Hellenthal and Logan Anderson from Umpqua Valley Christian, Tauj Flora from Sutherlin, and Drew Camp from South Umpqua. The event highlights the achievements of standout seniors and gives them a final opportunity to compete at a high level before graduation. The weekend includes two nine-inning games on Saturday beginning at 3:30 p.m., and one final nine-inning game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students on Saturday, with free admission for kids five and under. Sunday’s tickets are $5 for adults and students, with the same free admission for young children. Coaching duties will be shared by Dave York (UVC), Kevin Shafer (Cascade Christian), Kevin Moffatt (Kennedy), and Lennie Wolfe (Warrenton). “This is the first time this series has come to Roseburg, and we’re planning on this being an annual event. Our community has financially supported this,” said Dave York, head varsity coach for UVC Baseball. York added, “Edward Jones of Douglas County is a co-sponsor of the event along with Baseballism. Sponsors include: Victory Builders, J.R. and Kecia Adams, Trevor and Carly Mauch, Julie and Terry Bancroft, Lone Rock Resources, Convey, Dr. Alanson Randol, G-Team Realty, Douglas County Baseball Association, Rundell Construction, Clint Newell Motors, Lennie and Michelle Wolfe, Chris Hubbard State Farm Insurance, Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe, and Umpqua Sheet Metal.” “This is an excellent way for these seniors to finish their high school baseball careers,” York said. “We hope our community will come to support this over the weekend.”
