Things To Remember As Nesting Season Draws Closer

I wanted to share some reminders about how the community can help protect birds during nesting season. Nesting season is starting right now and can go as late as September. 1. Stay on trails - This is especially true in areas near the Ponds in Stewart Park where nesting females are sitting on their nests. 2. Keep dogs on leashes and on trails. This is especially needed in the Natural Areas and by ponds where more birds choose to nest. Best to keep dogs completely away from the wildlife if at all possible. There are lots of other ares throughout the park to walk dogs during this part of the year. In general, anything we can do to avoid disturbing the birds and other wildlife during this part of the year would be good. Thanks everyone!
