Community Works Together to Prepare Fir Grove Soccer Fields

This past week several organizations worked very hard to prepare the soccer fields at Fir Grove for the upcoming Spring Soccer season. Umpqua United Soccer organized the work on the fields which included: deep tine the fields and spread 300 tons of sand across the fields where needed. Green Diamond Performance Materials of generously donated 300 tons of sand for the project. Umpqua Sand and Gravel of Roseburg donated a majority of the trucking costs. The Roseburg Parks Department crew worked really hard to prepare the fields and then spread the sand and then fertilize it all this past week. Another great example of local companies and organizations working together to accomplish a project that benefits kids from all over Douglas County that play soccer on those fields.
