Gov Brown Announces Limited Reopening Starts May 15

Physical distancing, face coverings will be a part of our lives for many months to come, Gov Brown said. Phase 1 for counties that meet prerequisites: (here is a link to the entire plan, including prerequisites - https://govsite-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/2pRlAJbhRBuSTm0Iqy6p_Reopening-Oregon-Details-on-Restarting-Public-Life-and-Business.pdf) Restaurants and bars can open for sit down service, distancing still needs to be observed, face coverings by employees. Customers are not required to wear masks. Personal care places like salons, barbers, gyms can open in a limited way. Salons by appt only. Retail locations can also open with physical distancing. Local gatherings can increase in size up to 25 people. Phase 1 will last for at least 21 days while observing for uptick in cases. Could be able to move to phase two if meet criteria. Phase 2 could mean slightly bigger gatherings and more work in office settings. Large gatherings, including live sporting events with audiences, concerts, festivals, conventions will not be able to resume until a reliable treatment or vaccine. At least through September. All large events in the state of Oregon, including fairs will be cancelled or significantly modified. It's unclear at this point what modifications could be made to enable certain events to still take place. Day-use areas prone to crowds will remain closed, according to the Phase One plan, as well as all overnight use areas, including campgrounds. Strong recommendation on the use of face coverings will be released soon. Asking for Oregonians to be considerate of others. Not going to require face masks of everyone. State wants it to be voluntary. More info to come. Here is a link to the press conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw3WnpZyXeM&feature=emb_title
