Umpqua Wildlife Rescue Seeing Several Cases of Angel Wing

This is what a case of Angel Wing looks like in a young goose. The bone in their wings literally twists outward. This one came from the Stewart Park "Duck Pond". The cases we see often are usually caused by people feeding them a harmful diet of carbohydrates (bread). Bread is bad for birds, ducks and geese. Besides being painful, this goose might not ever be able to fly, migrate have a mate or raise young. If you insist on feeding the birds at the ponds, please give them things like frozen peas or cut grapes. Please no bread, french fries etc. 🤙 Also, if you find a gosling, please do not try to raise them. Call a rehabber at Umpqua Wildlife Rescue at 541-440-6895 and let them help. Three more young geese just came in with cases of angel wing because of poor diet they were being given.
