Downed Powerline Sparks Small Fire South of Canyonville

(DFPA) : O’Shea Creek - Fire Crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association and the Canyonville – South Umpqua Rural Fire Department responded to a natural cover fire Wednesday afternoon that was sparked by a downed powerline. Firefighters from both agencies arrived on scene of the O’Shea Creek Fire, located approximately 3 miles southeast of Canyonville shortly after 3:00 PM and stopped the forward spread of the fire. Crews had to wait for the power company to arrive on scene and de-energize the powerline before they could fully contain the blaze. The O’Shea Creek Fire burned 1/10th of an acre.
