(DFPA) Milepost 92 SOUTHBOUND Fire: crews have the forward spread of the MP 92 southbound fire stopped and fully lined. Crews will remain on scene for several hours, mopping up hot spots. The final fire size was a quarter acre.

In addition to our normal automatic dispatch of four engines, a bull dozer, a helicopter and a fixed wing observation aircraft, a 20 person hand crew and a tender were pulled off yesterdays MP 92 northbound fire where they were assigned to mop up operations, to assist with the new fire start. Additional resources responded from the Azalea Rural Fire Department, Canyonville - South Umpqua Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The cause of the MP 92 southbound fire is under investigation.
