Monday Night Fire Update for Douglas County

Final Update for the night: The thick smoke we are seeing is likely coming from multiple fires up north. The newest fire that started this evening is along McKenzie Highway out east of Eugene. There are mandatory evacuations going on there and the smoke from that fire is likely blowing directly into Douglas County right now. Also, the two other fires up to the NE grew significantly this evening and we are also getting smoke from those fires. I've attached a satellite image from within the past 1/2 hour that shows all the fires. Last new fire of the evening is down in Chiloquin. It's already a big fire and could be bad. Last report I saw was that it was already at 1k acres. More to come in the morning. Sleep well and be prepared for lots of smoke in the area tomorrow.
