Afternoon update: Nonpareil fire

At 2:15 today I drove out to Gassy Creek rd East of Sutherlin and was able to speak to a first responder. He reported that at the moment there is no helicopter support due to low visibility. However, the crews working there are preparing a way to pinch the blaze with its current burn pattern. Additional crews are said to be on the way to cut more lines. The Nonpareil fire could possibly be a downwind offshoot from the Archie Creek fire. Recent updates from DFPA say the two fires are two miles apart. Residents of Sutherlin should feel safe and remain calm. Help your neighbor and keep good spirits! The men and women working fire line and those volunteering their time and personal resources.
