At Least 109 Homes Have Been Destroyed by the Archie Creek Fire in Glide Area

Sargent Brad O'Dell from the Douglas County Sheriffs Office announced tonight that at least 109 homes were destroyed by the Archie Creek Fire. Most of the homes were in the Idleyld area and some in Glide. 225 residents showed up for the emotional meeting where information about their homes and assistance that is available to them was shared. Residents that live between the green bridge in Glide and the Idleyld Store have been allowed to return to their homes. Lone Rock Road has also been reduced to level 2 and residents can return home. Bar L Ranch Road remains in a Level 3. Little River Road up to Buckhorn Road has also been reduced to Level 2 and residents are now able to return home. That said, the smoke up in the area is very thick right. Weather should continue to improve with more of the smoke being pushed out of the area as the week progresses. Monday should be better than Sunday, but will still be pretty poor.
