Loggers Tap House To Open New Location Overlooking Winchester Dam
It’s official. Loggers Tap House has secured their new property above the Winchester Dam, where they will build their new location in 2021. The new location will be built in two phases, with the first phase being the new Loggers location, a bar, a large outdoor seating area, and a space for eight food trucks. Sam Gross owner of Loggers Tap House, will bring in a variety of local food trucks to the food park. “We want to encourage local food trucks to be there,” Gross said. “It’s going to be a food park. Whether people are traveling down I-5 or coming from the community, we want to have a variety of options to choose from for lunch and dinner every day of the week. They can come in to eat or enjoy the outdoor dining space.” “Will have at least a couple hundred seats for outdoor seating alongside the cliffs edge,” Gross said. “Will work with food trucks to have food delivered and give food trucks a place for dry and cold storage with a huge walk-in cooler.” Phase two will extend the building to allow food trucks a permanent space, along with moving the food trucks into the parking lot and adjusting the outdoor seating to the south side of the building with a view above the fish ladder. “I’m only getting a loan for phase one of what I’m trying to do out there,” Gross said. “Unless someone knows an investor, who wants to invest in a food park, I’m going to have to build it in 2 phases, as funding for the whole project is short $1.5 million.” Bobby Geyer Construction will be the general contractor for the new Loggers Tap House location. “He’ll build the building and subcontract out other things like the driveway,” Gross said. “Our building engineer is very sought after so that the planning process is taking time.” The current Loggers lease ends on January 31, 2022, for their location in Roseburg. That is why Gross is hoping to be in their new location at that time. “Hoping that we can move in Jan 31, 2022,” Gross said. “As long as construction begins no later than April of 2021 then we should be able to complete that.” Loggers is also expanding to Winston in the Elephant Walk development which is being constructed now. “DoorDash is available in Winston now we'll be able to provide dine-in, carryout, and delivery. We'll also have an outdoor dining area,” Gross said. “That construction is going and things are looking like a March 2021 opening.” Photos by Ryan Finlay
