Child Care in Oregon: Capacity Shortage Continues to Grow
At the beginning of 2020, Oregon had a child care shortage in approximately 90% of the state. There was only one childcare slot open for every three children that needed care. Then, from March to the end of the year, capacity was reduced by another 22%. The Ford Family Foundation in Roseburg just published a report on how to address inequity and rebuild child care in rural Oregon.
