Local Youth Baseball Team Helps Prepare Grounds at Stewart Park Ponds
10:24 PM · Mar 13, 2021The Douglas County Timbers youth baseball team spent this morning at the ponds in Stewart Park preparing the grounds for a big planting day next Saturday. A lot of prep work spreading planting soil was completed, as well as filling in low spots with dirt. The Douglas County Timbers, coached by Mitch Black and Jeremy Sprague, is a U-12 competitive baseball team made up of Douglas County athletes. The team will play a competitive game schedule from March through August. The team focuses on player development, building strong character, fostering the love of the game, and creating lifelong friendships while participating in opportunities to serve our community. The team has its first game of the season tomorrow, Sunday, March 14 at Gaddis Park. The Timbers are fundraising for the season and upcoming trip to the All-Star Village in Cooperstown, NY in July. For those interested in supporting the team, below are a few ways you can do so. $100.00 Provide a business card or digital image and we will add your business name and logo to our team poster. As a thank you, we will bring you a complimentary poster to display at your business. Cash Donation of any amount will be applied to registration fees, uniforms, equipment and gear. Merchandise or Gift Card donation to be used in a future raffle to benefit the team. Douglas County Timbers is a 501(c)(3) organization.
