6:58 PM · Apr 12, 2021

CHI Mercy Health is now offering COVID Testing for traveling purposes through scheduled appointments at our campus COVID clinic Monday through Friday. This clinic offers (self-pay only) COVID-19 clearance exams for adults and children over 2 years old. During your visit, you’ll receive a PCR based COVID-19 Test from a CHI Mercy Health clinician. Your COVID-19 test results will be available in your Patient Portal account on the CHI Mercy Health desktop or mobile site within 72 hours from testing. You will be able to download results in a PDF format for printing or to upload to other sites as required. Please ensure our testing results and turnaround times are valid for your particular carrier or destination. It is important to plan your test with your travel time. For example, if your test is Monday, you will have results in your CHI Mercy Health portal account within 72 hours. If you are traveling with children 14 and older, the child will need to have a separate personal email address to access his/her test results. Any child(ren) 13 and younger will have their results added to one of their parents required portal accounts which is accessible by the parent’s personal email account. Check out our FAQ for details on how to schedule and other helpful tips. *To sign up for Mercy’s Patient Portal, you will need an activation code which are available by visiting Mercy’s Admitting/Registration Department or Mercy’s Medical Records Department. To Get Your Code You Will Need To: • Fill out a Release of Information Form • Provide your email address • Provide your photo identification Next Step: Check Your Email For Your Code You will receive an email that includes your access code and details on how to get set up. Please activate and access the portal early to ensure you are familiar with how to obtain and download results. FAQ: COVID Travel Testing How do I book COVID-19 testing with my family? The first step is to call CHI Mercy Health’s COVID testing scheduling at 541.677.1522 to schedule your appointment. Please remember, you are responsible for scheduling your appointment within your own travel arrangement requirements. Limited appointments are available so we encourage you to call to schedule as early as possible. An email address is required to set up a CHI Mercy Health Patient Portal account. Each adult should create their own unique account. Once your account is created, you can then add children or family members who are under the age of 14 to any adult account. COVID-19 clearance exams are available for adults and children over 2 years old. Cost The cost of the COVID-19 travel clearance test is $99 per test. COVID-19 tests for traveling are not deemed medically necessary and therefore the cost of each test will need to be covered by each patient prior to the administration of the test. Tests required for convenience/travel are a non-covered service by insurance and/or the CARES Act. If you would like to attempt to seek reimbursement for the test from your health insurance plan, you can use the after-visit summary and receipt to send to your insurance provider. When are appointments available? Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Walk in and weekend appointments are currently not available. Where do I find my COVID-19 Test Results? Your results will be available in the CHI Mercy Health Patient Portal only. Once logged in to your Portal account, you can access the PDF of your test results in the ‘Reports’ section and select the Lab report from your test date. How do I download my COVID-19 Test Results PDF? Once logged in to your Patient Portal at https://patient.mercyrose.org/PtAccess/ you can access the PDF of your test results in the ‘Reports’ section by selecting ‘Reports’ on the top left tab. Once in ‘Reports’, select the test result you would like to view, and at the top of the lab report, select the SAVE icon, then select “selected item” and hit “submit”. A separate box will give you the option to open or save file as a PDF. How does the COVID-19 Test work? The test will be a nasal swab. Swabbing will only occur to the mid nasal area and is generally more comfortable than a nasopharyngeal swab. The test is run using molecular technology to detect the presence of a virus. Do I need to have my flight itinerary for a testing appointment? Yes, please bring your confirmed flight itinerary to your test appointment with CHI Mercy Health. Photo by Yu Kato
