12:14 AM · May 4, 2021

From May 3-7, Douglas ESD Safe Routes to School program is celebrating National Bike Month with a walk, bike and roll to school challenge. The weeklong event is planned for students in grades K-12, which includes remote, in-person and homeschool students. If students don’t live near a school, they are invited to participate for twenty minutes a day in a safe alternative location such as a neighborhood or park. All participants should follow bicycle and pedestrian safety guidelines and are encouraged to participate with a friend or family member. Participants are encouraged to log their daily activity at https://bit.ly/BikeWeekDoCo to receive a prize, including a chance to win a bike or a pair of athletic shoes. Prize winners will be drawn on May 10, 2021* The school with the most participants will win a book bundle for the school library.
