Drift Smoke From California Fire Could Impact Parts of Douglas County

DFPA posted a reminder about possible drift smoke that areas across Douglas County could see from the Lava Fire currently burning near Weed California. Currently there are no fires on DFPA protected lands. As you can see from this satellite image from this morning, smoke is mostly heading NW. The Lava Fire nearly tripled in size overnight as fire conditions have worsened. That fire is now 1,446 acres with 20% containment. Here is the full DFPA message: "Drift smoke from the Lava Fire near Weed California has moved into portions of southwest Oregon today. As of this post, there are no new fires on DFPA protected lands."
