1:21 AM · Jul 11, 2021

A large DC10-30 McDonnell Douglas air tanker taking off from Medford airport has started making fire suppression drops on the Jack Fire. The aircraft can carry up to 12,000 US gallons of water or fire retardant at a time. The round trip flight from Medford appears to take 40 minutes from takeoff to landing. The tanker is also making drops on the enormous Bootleg fire in the Klamath area.
