Several members of the Roseburg Fire Department came out to honor to honor fallen Medford Firefighter Frumencio Ruiz Carapia as his procession passed through Roseburg Thursday afternoon. The 56 year-old Carapia was struck by a falling tree as he worked along the eastern edge of the Gales Fire up in Lane County. Family members told KDRV the 20-year firefighting veteran was due home on Tuesday and his wife had his favorite food already prepared for him. Carapia leaves behind his wife, 4 children and one grandchild.
