Series of Storms on their Way to Southern Oregon

10:43 PM · Oct 19, 2021

Rain is set to arrive by early Wednesday morning and the extended forecast shows rain for the next few weeks. The first few storms are set to drop as much as an inch and a half of rain on the area by this weekend. Next week more storms are expected to arrive. Here is the latest from NWS in Medford: "A series of storms will bring wet weather to the forecast area into next weekend. Two distinct wet storm systems—one tonight into Wednesday morning and another late Thu into Fri morning—will bring significant precipitation to the forecast area. Expect ponding of water on roadways and there is potential for some flooding in and around the wildfire burn scar areas. Snow is expected above 5000 feet in Siskiyou County. There’s a good chance that October precipitation will end up above normal for at least portions of the forecast area. This would be the second month in a row with above normal precipitation."
