Douglas ESD Safe Routes to School is Hosting Walk & Roll Event

4:59 PM · Oct 4, 2022

On Oct. 12 Douglas ESD’s Safe Routes to School is planning a Walk & Roll to School Day in celebration of National Walk & Roll to School Day. This event encourages students to walk, bike and roll to school. The event is geared for students in grades K-12 and their families, which includes virtual and homeschool students. If students don’t live near a school, they are invited to participate for twenty minutes a day in a safe alternative location such as a neighborhood or park. All participants should follow bicycle and pedestrian safety guidelines and are encouraged to participate with a friend or family member. Elementary-aged children and younger should have a responsible caregiver accompany them along their safe route to school.  Please register here: https://bit.ly/WalkRollOct22  Participants who complete will be entered into our grand prize drawing for a new bike or pair of athletic shoes. Names will be drawn on Friday, Oct. 14 and prize winners will be contacted via email.  Visit the Douglas County Safe Routes to School Facebook page for updates at www.facebook.com/DoCoSafeRoutes.
