UCC Women's Basketball and Zonta Team Up for Double Donation Drive
11:15 PM · Feb 16, 2023On February 22, folks who bring clothing donations to the UCC Women’s Basketball game are entitled to a free popcorn. Game time is 5:30 p.m. and the women will be playing Chemeketa. As part of its Double Donation Drive, Zonta donates the clothing to Sunrise Enterprises who benefits by having more clothing for their retail service and achieving their goal of providing inclusion and jobs to those with disabilities. Sunrise then makes a nominal donation to Zonta who works to empower women. So, on the 22nd bring your donation, cheer for the Riverhawks who are 19 - 4, enjoy free popcorn, plus help Zonta and Sunrise Enterprises with their missions. The clothing should be clean and lightly used. No shoes, purses or household goods can be accepted. Game admission is $5 for adults and $3 for 12 and under. Clothing can also be dropped off at Cardinal Services (2375 NW Stewart Parkway) and the Roseburg City Library (1409 Diamond Lake Blvd.) through the end of February. Clean your closet and benefit both Zonta and Sunrise Enterprises. Zonta is a worldwide organization celebrating over 100 Years of Honoring and Empowering Women. Locally the club works to stop human trafficking and provide a HandUp for women navigating difficult steps to improve their lives.
