Douglas County Fairgrounds to Welcome Quilt Enthusiasts at Annual Show

The Umpqua Valley Quilters' Guild is ready to kick off its 38th Annual Quilt Show, "Seams Like Home", on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Roseburg, Oregon. The vibrant three-day event, extending through the weekend, promises a fun experience for quilt enthusiasts, with the doors opening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Highlighting the craftsmanship and creativity of the quilting community, the show will feature hundreds of quilts and quilt-related items on display. Competitions with cash prizes and ribbons are set to recognize the top quilts across various categories, adding a flair of excitement for the participants. A heartfelt Quilts of Valor Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., where several Douglas County Veterans will be presented with a Quilt of Valor. Visitors are encouraged to attend this poignant ceremony. The show is proud to present its Featured Quilter, Linda Ballard, and Honored Quilter, Sandy Medak. Both will be offering several demonstrations and presentations throughout the event. Visitors can also shop from numerous vendors, enjoy lunch at the Quilters Cafe (cash only), and explore the Stitch and Sew Emporium. Attendees will also have the chance to enter a raffle for a beautifully crafted quilt, with the winner announced on Sunday before the event concludes. With free parking provided, visitors will have easy access to a weekend filled with beauty, craftsmanship, and community spirit.
