Someone documented the price of the same size can of Campbell’s tomato soup over the last hundred years. Since 2020, the price has gone from $.84 to $1.24. That’s a 47.6% increase in price due to inflation just in the past four years. So as our politicians squabble about how much money they are going to spend, just remember we have a $2 trillion budget deficit each year. The money they are spending is going to mean more money printing and more inflation. Everyone is going to pay for it. Want lower inflation numbers? Demand less spending from your politicians. Also, note that the US disconnected our currency from any sort of restraint or gold standard in 1971 and look what has happened since.
