Community Invited to Celebrate New RHS Softball Field

March 5, 2024 — The community is invited to join Roseburg School District in celebrating the completion of the new softball field at Roseburg High School. The celebration will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 12 at the new ballpark located behind the Finlay Field bleachers on the RHS campus. “This field is about possibilities,” said Superintendent Jared Cordon. “Look at what can be achieved when our community works together to support students. The new softball field will serve students and our community for generations to come, offering a beautiful space for athletics and other outdoor activities.” The event will feature free food and the chance to check out the field and its features. The district has also invited the many local contractors and businesses who contributed to the field’s completion since construction began last summer. The district’s goal is to provide as many opportunities for youth and community use as possible at the new facility. The project included premium synthetic turf for the field, dugouts, a scoreboard, batting cages, spectator seating, and bullpens. While primarily intended for softball, the space was constructed for multi-use capabilities such as soccer and lacrosse.
