Lightning Ignites Fires on Diamond Lake District
Umpqua National Forest is responding to two new fires on Diamond Lake District. A widespread lightning storm moved through the region the last two nights and multiple strikes have been confirmed on the forest. ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐จ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ฎ:๐ฑ๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ - ๐ฌ๐ณ/๐ฌ๐ฎ/๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ - Buckneck Fire (#180) is a 0.81-acre fire located on the northeast side of Buckneck Mountain. Redmond Smokejumpers on site. - Garwood Fire (#177) is 0.10-acre fire located a mile from National Forest Service Road 3703, spur 200. Siskiyou Rappelers on site, 100% lined. - Smoke check in progress: Thielsen Wilderness (#179) A fixed wing Air Attack plane is up and performing reconnaissance to locate any additional fires and an Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA) imagery flight will take place across the area later today. Remember that even fires in Forest constructed fire rings within designated recreation sites, need to be dead out before leaving your campsite.
