At daybreak Tuesday morning, a homeowner 5 miles west of Sutherlin came turned on her porch light just in time. A mountain lion was attacking their house cat and it took off when the porch light was turned on. The owner of the injured house cat still has not been able to get the cat to come back inside. Hopefully it's ok. The homeowner believes the mountain lion was a juvenile. The homeowners also found a fawn carcass on their property, likely killed by the Mountain Lion. Just wanted to give a heads up to residents in the area to be on the lookout and keep close eye on your animals.
