11:24 PM · Aug 22, 2019

(ODOT)ROSEBURG – The southbound Interstate 5 ramps at the Harvard interchange (Exit 124) are scheduled to re-open Sunday night, August 25. The new traffic signals on the west side of the interchange will be inspected around 7 p.m. Sunday. Allowing time for any final adjustments, the southbound ramps are expected to re-open by 6 a.m. Monday. The south end of Bellows Street will re-open at the same time. The two week-ramp closures began on Sunday, August 11. Over the past 11 days, prime contractor Knife River Materials has excavated the southbound ramps and Bellows Street, built two pedestrian islands, installed concrete curbs and sidewalks, removed the old traffic signals, and attached mast arms and signal heads to the new poles. Knife River has completed base paving on the ramps and Bellows, and will pave the top layer across the entire intersection within the next few days. Most work that impacts traffic is scheduled to take place prior to Labor Day. Motorists can expect intermittent nighttime lane closures next week. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. The new traffic signals on Harvard Avenue at the Roseburg High School entrance are expected to be turned on next month.
