Wildlife Safari Welcomes Four Newborn Cheetah Cubs
Wildlife Safari recently welcomed four newborn cheetah cubs to first-time mom Bam-Bam, one of the most genetically valuable cheetahs in the Species Survival Plan. The birth marks a significant milestone for ongoing cheetah conservation efforts. Winston, OR — Wildlife Safari is thrilled to announce the arrival of four new cheetah cubs! Three males and one female were born on April 12th to first-time mom, Bam-Bam. Bam was also born at Wildlife Safari, making her one of the most genetically valuable cheetahs in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) in North America. The SSP is a cooperative breeding program with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) aimed at ensuring the genetic diversity and long-term sustainability of endangered species like cheetahs. Bam gave birth to four healthy cubs following a smooth and successful labor. Each cub arrived with a strong, healthy weight, with no runts in the litter—an encouraging sign of their vitality and well-being. Bam has been an attentive and nurturing mother, spending the majority of her time in the den nursing and grooming her newborns. She has begun to venture out briefly to enjoy the spring weather, always returning quickly to care for her cubs. This birth is not only a critical step for Bam-Bam but also contributes to the broader efforts in cheetah conservation, as her cubs represent an important genetic lineage. Wildlife Safari is dedicated to advancing the care, study, and preservation of cheetahs. Bam and her cubs signify an inspiring success for cheetah conservation efforts. Visit Wildlife Safari and see if you can spot Bam-Bam and her cubs in the Cheetah Loop! Open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.wildlifesafari.net.
