Stewart Park Pavilion Re-Opens with New Updates

(City of Roseburg) Roseburg OR – The City of Roseburg is excited to announce the reopening of the Stewart Park Pavilion, which has received extensive upgrades. Starting on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, the public can once again enjoy the pavilion as a community recreational hub. The Pavilion, which was originally built in the early 1970s, has a new metal roof, along with sky lights and new lighting features, which will help illuminate the facility during the winter months. Improvements to the pavilion also included new trusses, roof purlins and sheeting. Parks and Recreation Manager Kris Ammerman comments on the completion of the project. “We are excited to complete this project just in time for the holidays,” beams Ammerman. “Our residents have used the facility for generations as a spot for celebrations, reunions, holidays and other special occasions. These needed upgrades will allow the pavilion to continue to be a place where happy memories are made.” The City would like to thank the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for a $75,000 grant, which was used to help fund the project. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the City asks that residents and visitors enjoy the pavilion in a safe manner. Please practice social distancing and wear a face mask while inside the facility.
