Roseburg Future First Citizen Finalists Announced
Five Roseburg High School seniors have been chosen for the Future First Citizen award by the Roseburg High School Foundation. "I think it's pretty important for us to recognize the excellence that exists in our youth," foundation president Brian Prawitz said. "Outside of state championships or competitions for a variety of talents, this gives us a chance to reward not just great academic achievement, but all-around excellence." Camille Dela Cruz, Jane Harvey, Lauren Sandfort, Rachel Bober, and Stephanie Way were chosen as future leaders, volunteers, supporters, and role models who will make a difference in their community. The five finalists will be interviewed by a community panel made up of the Roseburg High School Foundation, a past winner, and donors from the local business community. Each nominee will share $26,000 for college tuition. One student will receive $10,000 and four will receive $4,000. The winner will be announced at the virtual Roseburg High School Foundation Scholarship Night on Tuesday, April 13. More information can be found on the foundation’s Facebook page.
