The UVC boys soccer team cruised to their third straight win to start the season Friday as they downed Glide 8-0.

Sam Guastaferro led the Monarchs (3-0) with three goals and an assist. Blake Withers added two goals and two assists for UVC. Evan Buechley had one goal and one assist while Trenton Witt also scored once and had an assist. Dominick Butler also added a goal for the Monarchs. 

The game ended at 73 minutes and 15 seconds because of the eight-goal differential rule. 

UVC was scheduled to play Sutherlin on Tuesday but that game was cancelled due to a quarantine with the Sutherlin team. 

The 1A Monarchs will play at 3A Brookings-Harbor (3-0) on Thursday at 4 p.m. Glide will play at Douglas on Saturday at 1 p.m.
