Record Dry Spring Set to Continue Into May

So far in April, Roseburg has only received .59 inches of rain, much less than a normal April. It doesn't appear that any moisture is coming over the next week or so according to the long-range forecast. It would be good to start watering your grass and plants around your home as we go through this exceptionally dry period. Lawns in the area have already started turning brown from lack of rain this spring. According to the latest snow water equivalent map, Douglas County is currently at 62% of normal, not good heading into summer and our next fire season. There is still hope we could get a wet May and June, but the confidence level is not high.
