Douglas County Birds: Bullock's Oriole

5:38 PM · May 14, 2021

In the summer the Bullock’s Oriole can be found all around Douglas County. Bullock’s Orioles like large open woodland with lots of large oak, cottonwood, willow, and sycamore trees. Bullock’s Orioles eat mostly insects, berries, and sugar water. Bullock’s Orioles prefer to nest in large oak, cottonwood, willow and sycamore trees. Bullock’s Orioles weave their nests out of grass, string, cotton, and other soft and stringy materials. Photo taken in Douglas County Photo Abraham Finlay
