Whiskey Creek Rustics Moves Downtown

5:22 PM · Nov 5, 2021

Sarah Gallino has honed her business into what she and her customers want and now she’s moved the business downtown. Whiskey Creek Rustics opened the storefront on Ward Street in May of 2019, but Gallino has been taking crafts to art shows since she was a kid. The store is Gallino’s interpretation of Roseburg or Pacific Northwest style. It’s mostly clothes with some small home decor and accessories. She had several people tell her they thought her business was a good fit for downtown, but she was hesitant. Still, she took the plunge to buy the other half of Brown’s Shoe Fit at 530 SE Jackson St. Now that she’s made the space her own and gotten to know downtown, she’s excited for the life and culture that is there and growing. “I’m happy with this space,” Gallino said. “I think it fits my vibe a little more. I also think it’s unlike any other shops in town. I’m still honing in on exactly what I’m doing here, but it’s a constant evolution for me. All of us taking pride in our own businesses and working to improve - even if you’re selfish and not trying to do anything for anyone else - it all affects all the businesses around us and that’s kind of cool. The ripple effect is pretty amazing.” She said she is grateful for her first location and the way it propelled her to where she is today. She opened in her new location on Oct. 8. Address: 530 SE Jackson St. Phone: 541-637-8355 Hours: Tues.-Fri. 10-6, Sat. 10-3
