Tuck's Place Opens in Roseburg

11:16 PM · Sep 23, 2022

Tuck's Place provides a space for people of all ages to spend time together either painting ceramics, getting a bite to eat, something to drink or watching TV. The space opened today, Sept. 23. Tonya Ferber said the name comes from her nickname growing up and the idea has been something she's wanted for Roseburg for 12 years. She saw pottery painting places in Bend and wanted a place that could include food and drinks. "I don't want it to only be ceramic's based because I have so much here," Ferber said. "You could come in a paint, a family with small kids could let the kids paint and the dad can watch football and mom can have her mimosa. I don't know, just like an array of everything. You don't have a lot of things that little kids can do with their parents, You can only go to the movies and bowl so much. So I feel like this will be a fun addition to Roseburg for a family, especially in the winter coming up." Ferber taught herself how to fire the kiln in the back to finalize the painted pieces. Customers who paint a piece will get a call once it's been fired and they can pick it up later. Tuck's Place is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 509 SE Jackson St. Ferber said their busiest times today were around lunch and in the afternoon. It is all walk-ins, no reservations required.
