Roseburg Del Taco Rebuild Out for Bid

11:32 PM · Feb 18, 2023

Del Taco is getting close to starting the rebuild on the same property as the building that burned down in July. Erick Marsh, the franchise company's director of operations said the plans are in motion. "Yes, we have been approved by the city with our plans and we have a general contractor and are getting bids from local subcontractors," Marsh said. "We still have a good management team together and have a few commitments from some of the team that are ready to get to work when the time comes. My district Manager and her daughter, the general manager, can't go out in public without someone asking when we will be reopen. So that is good news to us, means people miss us." Del Taco on Stewart Parkway burned down in July. The opportunity for subcontractors to bid on the project will open on Feb. 23 according to a subcontractor with access to the site where bids are listed. *** From the Roseburg Tracker story in July Del Taco is franchised by Cactus Enterprises based in Salem. The company owns six other Del Taco locations in the region. The building on Stewart Parkway used to be a Jack in the Box and Marsh said it never really fit Del Taco's needs, but they made it work. "We were doing good there," Marsh said. "That store just did their all-time sales. It was doing great. The general manager has the lowest turnover in the company. They loved working for her." All of the management team were able to transfer to other stores and keep working, but there wasn't the capacity for the 19 other employees. Marsh said he hopes the rebuild goes quickly and those employees can and will want to return. The parent company created a new building design in 2021 called Fresh Flex for older buildings in the franchise. The new design will likely be implemented in the Roseburg rebuild. The owners hope to have a bigger dine-in area and outside seating in addition to the drive-thru.
