Thursday MP97 Fire Update: Fire Now at 13,070 Acres, 30% contained

The Milepost 97 Fire has grown another 492 acres in the past 24 hours and now sits at just over 13k acres and is approximately 30% contained. Weather: There will be a hot dry airmass over the fire today. Winds will be light with some higher gusts in the afternoon. Smoke: Roseburg will have good air conditions. Azalea and Glendale will have very unhealthy air today and tomorrow. Overnight the smoke will sink into areas such as Canyonville. Traffic: Expect slow traffic near Canyonville and south past the fire area again today. There are flaggers in the area and work is continuing along the freeway. Meeting: A community meeting to provide information on the fire and regional smoke impacts will be held at 7 p.m. on August 1, 2019 at the North Valley High School, 6741 Monument Drive, Grants Pass, OR 97526.
