The Indians (2-5, 0-3) got a goal from sophomore LaTara Aguirre-Stepp in the 38th minute. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime. “We played much better today and possessed the ball well,” Roseburg coach Kristin Parks said. “We had much better passing and offense today.” Roseburg had six shots on goal compared to 15 shots on goal for North Medford (4-2, 2-1). “We did better at connecting passes and played more balls up field and made more runs which we have struggled with in the past,” Roseburg senior Kaitlyn Riley said. “Defense stayed more connected allowing midfield to be more offensive.” Freshman Amy Carpenter had 12 saves in goal for the Indians. “I’m very proud of our girls and their efforts today,” Parks said. “We’re getting better and starting to work together. We were mentally in the game today. We kept our heads up and played hard for the entire 80 minutes.” Roseburg plays at South Medford on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
