Nash Singleton won the title in the 120 pound division with a 6-3 decision over Kade Moore from Allen, Texas. Nash beat the No. 1 seed Gabe Whisenhunt from Corvallis, Oregon in the semifinals with a 6-4 decision. “He was outstanding, he beat the No. 1 seed in the semifinals,” Roseburg coach Steve Lander said. “In the finals, he had control of the match the whole time and had the first takedown. He’s only a sophomore he works really hard and were really proud of him.” The Indians had four other placers in Kahleb Diaz at 132 (8th), Tristan David at 152 (8th), Colin Rietmann at 160 (8th), and Hunter Blix was fourth at 285. Blix won five matches in a row to reach the fourth place match weighing in at only 228 pounds. “He wrestled his best matches this weekend.” Lander said. “There were a bunch of schools from California, Texas, Idaho, Colorado, teams from all over the country,” Lander said. “There were a lot of ranked wrestlers. It’s one of the top ten tournaments in the country. I’m proud of the way the guys wrestled they wrestled hard, scored a lot of points and got some good wins in some tough matches. We feel good about how they wrestled, to do that in this kind of environment and attack people was really good to see.”
