Counties could be rated by risk of coronavirus spread- Trump

7:45 PM · Mar 26, 2020

Here's some encouragement. The President has signaled that certain counties around the country could possibly have their restrictions relaxed based upon their risk of coronavirus spread. Areas with large outbreaks will likely have restrictions in place for much longer. To pull this off, lots of testing is needed in every community across the country to determine the level of spread in that area. Without this, I don't see the relaxation happening because it's too risky to blow up the local medical capacity. This will have to be done in close concert with local health officials keeping very close tabs on number of cases/severe cases and available medical capacity in that area. Many distancing measures would likely need to remain partially in place too. This is still a very dangerous disease that is highly contagious. If an outbreak or big uptick in cases occurred in a community, things would have to be shut down again. Anyway, I just want to share a bit more about what's being discussed at the federal level to state governors. This could bode well for Douglas County and our seemingly low case count. https://www.oregonlive.com/news/2020/03/counties-could-be-rated-by-risk-of-coronavirus-spread-trump-says.html
