Coronavirus Update for Wednesday April 1st

Total Oregon coronavirus cases increased by 47 on Wednesday to 736. There was also one more death, a 70-year-old woman from Multnomah County. A total of 19 people have died from the illness so far in the state. Today, 1,049 people died in the US from the coronavirus. Total deaths from the virus reached 5,102 as of today. There were 26,473 new cases in the US today for a total of 215,003. Douglas County had no new cases today and remains at 10 discovered cases. 2 of our 10 cases remain hospitalized as of today and there have been no deaths in Douglas County related to the coronavirus. Today, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown placed a 90-day moratorium on commercial evictions for nonpayment Wednesday, bringing relief to thousands of businesses facing their first rent payments since losing significant revenue because of the coronavirus pandemic. https://www.oregonlive.com/coronavirus/2020/04/gov-kate-brown-issues-90-day-moratorium-on-commercial-evictions.html This followed an executive order temporarily halting residential evictions for nonpayment during the public health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
