Final Round of Emergency Assistance Grants Available to Local Businesses

8:34 PM · Oct 7, 2020

CCD Business Development Corporation has launched Round 4 of the State of Oregon COVID-19 Emergency Business Assistance Grant Program. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to small businesses adversely affected by economic conditions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The State of Oregon has allocated $17.5 million statewide in round four. To date, CCD has disbursed a total of $560,000 in rounds one through three to Coos, Curry, and Douglas counties. CCD received additional funds from the City of Roseburg, Rogue Credit Union and the Port of Umpqua increasing the disbursement total to $670,000. The $17.5 million in round four is available now on a first come, first served basis. If businesses step up and apply, CCD could disburse many more grants in the region. Round four is expected to be the final round of grant funding for this program. Allocated funds to the region must be deployed to eligible small businesses by November 11th or CCD would need to return the funds to Business Oregon. Theresa Haga, Executive Director for CCD said “The catch is CCD needs businesses to apply and act fast. There is a very short window of time to disburse a large amount of money in the region. We have a small staff working hard to contact as many local businesses as possible, but we really need the community to step up and help us spread the word again in round four. If you are hesitant to apply, don’t be. We are still facing an unknown future with fall and winter ahead of us. We want to help as many of our local businesses as possible while the money is available.” These are grants so businesses will receive a 1099 at the end of year from CCD. They will need to claim it as income earned in 2020. Round four of funding comes with a new set of eligibility requirements which opens the door for more businesses to apply. It also allows some awardees to get additional funds. Small businesses will be eligible under the following conditions: ▪ The business is in Coos, Curry, or Douglas county. ▪ The business is registered, if required by Oregon law. ▪ The business has 25 or fewer employees. ▪ If a nonprofit, the business is registered as a 501c3. ▪ The business can demonstrate a one-month decline in sales of 25% or greater. (Any month between March 1, 2020 and August 31, 2020 compared to same month in 2019) ▪ The business has not received over $100,000 in federal funding (PPP, EIDL) The application is available at www.ccdbusiness.org or by contacting CCD- 541-756-4101 (Coos Bay), 541-672-6728 (Roseburg), or by email at covid19grants@ccdbusiness.com
