Archie Creek Fire For October 8; Fire Remains 94% Contained
10:28 PM · Oct 8, 2020(DFPA) A local Type 3 Incident Management Team led by the Douglas Forest Protective Association remains engaged on the Archie Creek Fire with operational control over all the private, county and state lands within the footprint of the fire. Of the 131,542 acres that were blackened by the fire, DFPA is currently responsible for 64,836 acres. The fire remains 94% contained. DFPA currently has 23 people assigned to the incident, including seven engines and a bull dozer. DFPA’s primary mission includes monitoring and patrolling containment lines, back hauling supplies and equipment that are no longer needed on the fire lines and completing necessary fire suppression repair projects on private lands. DFPA personnel are working closely with the industrial landowners who were impacted by the fire, many of which are in the process of accessing their lands and starting salvage operations and prepping for reforestation projects. DFPA is also coordinating efforts with our federal partners and Northwest Team 12 who are managing fire operations on the public lands within the Archie Creek Fire. Photo shows Mt Scott up above Glide
