Local Golf Tournament Raises Funds Benefiting UV K9 Group

Umpqua Valley Financial hosted a charity golf tournament at the Roseburg Country Club last Saturday with the goal to help the local police K9 group That goal was accomplished as the tournament raised $3,775.87 for the Friends of the Umpqua Valley Police K9 group. The tournament had 82 golfers who participated in the scramble along with several officers with K9’s who stopped by the event and showcased their K9’s. The handlers also answered some questions from golfers about their jobs. “It was our first year, but it seemed to be a great success and we had beautiful weather.” UVF Host Tyler Goode said. “We are just very thankful to all who participated and look forward to hosting again next year.” The money raised typically goes to equipment, housing and the purchase of a new K9, by the UV Police K9 group.
