Old Soul Pizza Celebrating Their Four Year Anniversary On Wednesday

Old Soul Pizza is celebrating its four-year anniversary on Wednesday as the restaurant has become a downtown staple for pizza, beers and live music. “Pizza has been a passion of mine since my first job at 14 years old, when I worked for DeJoLas here in Roseburg,” Old Soul Owner Ray Bartram said. “That was 1976. Business has been good and grown about 20 percent a year (including this year) we have a great staff and loyal customer base.” Old Soul has a custom-made wood fired brick oven that weighs about 7,000 pounds. The interior of the restaurant is probably best described as ‘soulclectic’ according to Bartram. The majority of decorations come from Bartram's good friend Jim Lockwood with Haywire Art. “We strive for top quality pizzas with unique and local ingredients,” Bartram said. “I’m still working on finalizing our specials for Wednesday as it feels a little weird to try and make a huge deal (anniversary) right now. Maybe we’ll do a 4 1/2 year anniversary with live outdoor music.” Old Soul has made a name for itself with weekly pizza specials that highlight unique flavors that pair well with craft beer and their famous garlic knots. They had planned an Old Soul music festival this past summer, but they had to call that off. “My best memories are the live music shows we’ve been able to host, working with both my daughters,” Bartram said. “Developing an amazing staff, and the chance to build relationships with our local customer base.”
